When viewing user profiles in the Roommates.com iOS app, you may notice visual indicators near the member's photo and name, such as an "Offline" badge or a red triangle icon.
📱 Note: These specific profile indicators are currently exclusive to the iOS App.
The "Offline" Status Badge
What It Means: The grey "Offline" badge indicates that the user is not actively logged in or using the Roommates.com app at that precise moment.
Can I Still Message Them? Yes! You can still tap Contact me to send them an inquiry. The member will receive a message notification and can read and reply to your message as soon as they log back in.
The Red Triangle Icon (Upper-Right Corner)
In the upper-right corner of a profile's top photo header, you will see an icon displaying a red exclamation point inside of a red triangle.
What It Is: This icon is an interactive safety shortcut for your protection. Tapping it opens options to Block or Report that profile.
What It Is NOT: This icon is not a warning, penalty, or scam alert placed on the user's account by Roommates.com. It appears standard on profile views as a quick way for you to take safety action if you ever encounter suspicious behavior, inappropriate messages, or policy violations.
